Goal: Given a written regular word, the student can sound it out and say it with automaticity.

Lesson B - Read It, Do It: Sounding Out Accuracy

Goal: Given a decodable written sentence, the student can read it accurately.

Clap.

Clap ten times and stop.

Lesson C - Sound, Spell, Tell: Connected Text Accuracy

Goal: Given a regular word, the student can segment its sounds, spell the word, then relay a memory or thought it evokes.

Supply students with whiteboard or paper to write on. Sound out the following words and spell, write them: band, dust, just, pumpkin, snap, velvet.

Lesson D - Syllables and Sentences: Connected Text Accuracy

Goal: Given a regular word with two or more syllables, the student can cite the syllabic parts, blend the individual sounds to identify the word, then use it in a sentence.
